From what I could tell, there were no instructions to actually squeeze and do kegal exercises. Without actually working the muscle by squeezing and flexing, it will be very hard to strengthen it. Muscle grows by working out, not by vibrations.

For some mothers, putting something back inside their vagina after giving birth can be stressful or bring some anxiety. If you can relate to this, read these tips to help you prepare for your kegal exercises.

First of all, it is important to be gentle and slow with yourself. A lot of trauma has happened in your vagina after giving birth. Don’t try to rush through the process of getting your kegal ball up there! This is especially true of mothers who had a difficult labor, tore really bad, or experienced other kinds of trauma while giving birth.

Here are some tips to prep yourself for inserting your kegal ball.

  1. Visualize the process before doing anything. This allows you to face and understand your emotions before you actually do anything.
  2. Relax. All is well.
  3. Give yourself a pep talk. Tell yourself you are safe, your body is beautiful, and what you’re doing is a good thing. You are not bringing any danger or harm to yourself.

What is a kegal? Think of the muscles you use to pee. Do you feel your muscles relax as you visualize the peeing process? Now, visualize the muscle you use to stop peeing. Do you feel your muscles pull together and up slightly? Those are you kegal muscles.

To do a kegal squeeze, you simply exaggerate the “stopping peeing” motion. You want to squeeze those muscles as tight as you can.

Here is an important note. Do not do a kegal exercise in the middle of urinating. You do not want pee trapped in your urethra. This can cause a UTI.

The more you do kegal exercises, the stronger your vagina will become!
