1. Chew On Something Cold
Babies enjoy checking on things to help bring relief to their sore gums. There are several options of cool chewing aids to give your baby. Let’s talk about a few.
Freezer Teethers
Teethers that can go in the fridge or freezer are wonderful homeopathic remedies for teething! They are soft to chew, and the cold brings soothing relief. When looking for teethers, it is important to look for ones that are BPA free. BPA is a chemical found in some plastics that can cause developmental harm to your baby. To learn more about BPA and how it affects your baby’s health, read my article, “BPA Free Baby Products”.

After not having much success of anything else to help my baby feel better when teething, I have put my baby in a swing. Often that did the trick. The rocking motion was enough to calm her down, soothe her, and possibly help her fall asleep!

4. Go For A Walk
This tip may not seem like much, but don’t skim over this one!
Sometimes baby just needs to be distracted to help get her mind off of the teething pain. Another great homeopathic remedy for teething is going for a walk. Strap your baby carrier on, put your baby in a wagon, or push them in their stroller. They will love the motion, looking around outside, and being distracted by the sites and sounds of the outdoors.
It may not seem like much of a remedy, but coming from a mother who has tried this one, it works! My baby is currently teething and super whiney. Poor baby is super uncomfortable. I took her for a walk today, actually, and she loved it! So don’t judge it till you try it!
Being outside will also do a lot of good for your mental health, Mama! You may find you enjoy being outside just as much as your baby does. To learn more about emotional health in motherhood, click here.
Damp Cloth
One homeopathic remedy for teething I have heard other mothers say works well is a damp cloth. After hearing them say how great it was, I decided to try. My poor baby was so uncomfortable and didn’t enjoy Tylenol very much. So I tried a damp cloth. She absolutely loved it!
What’s great about it, is that it is homeopathic! No medicine. Natural comfort. Very little mess. The only thing you need to be careful of is not letting the cloth touch anything you don’t want getting wet. For example, magazines or a book. Also, you’ll want to be sure to give your baby a cloth large enough that they won’t be able to shove the whole cloth in their mouth and choke on it.
